DESCRIPTION:**🚶‍➡️🚶‍♀️🌛🌃🥾Friday GAIT Night Winter Walk Group (multiple locations)** \nMy PhD Winter term is lighter compared to last 2 terms🥳💃🎉 … so I am going to plan a **weekly 1-2 hour moderate walking FRIDAY GAIT NIGHT experience** along Michiana’s night-friendly pathways. I will try to keep it interesting with a variety of locations. \n**As Always there is possibility** of gathering for some warming vittles/bevvies after our healthy jaunt (First Fridays in the downtown area & by group vote and nearby locations for other walks — I am an early bird to rise person\, so I may or may not join the group – depends on the evening!!). \n**GAIT:** Primarily paved walkways\, but anticipate recent wet\, slush\, ice possibilities under the dark night lighting of street lights. We will gauge or group GAIT accordingly – nobody left behind! Typically about 2.5-3 miles per hour – allowing for chatting and a good heartrate in wintry conditions. DESCRIPTION:This is 10am ET\, 9am CT \nQuick morning hike to a new location on the trails in Lydick Bog. The bog is part of the Shirley Heinze Trust. This isn’t a very long hike but it’s Sunday morning so we will keep it simple.\nHere is a link that tells you a light bit about the trail\nhttps://heinzetrust.org \nWe will meet in the parking lot. \nThe hike only takes an hour\, we can make plans to go to the chocolate cafe and dinosaur museum after. There is also a small hiking trail there.\nThe Continental Divide Trail is 0.5 miles and has a lookout where you can see the Golden Dome on the Notre Dame Campus. SUMMARY:Bike Ride on Prairie Duneland Trail & Visit to Chesterton European Market
DESCRIPTION:this event is being held jointly with Rick’s Hiking and Fun Group\nhttps://www.meetup.com/ricks-hiking-fun-group/ \ndear hiking friends– \nOn Saturday morning\, May 3\, we will take a bike ride on the Prairie Duneland trail\, then visit the 2025 grand opening of the Chesterton European Market for lunch at one of the many food stands there. \nThis is part of the rails to trails bike path. Roundtrip the distance is 22.4 miles. We will do the whole path with breaks as needed. This will be a casual ride set at a moderate pace.\nWe will meet in the parking lot on Jackson. We will wait 10 minutes to give everyone enough time to get there and have their gear ready for the ride.\nThis won’t be a race but you are welcome to ride a faster pace if you would like.\nWe will gather back in the parking lot after\, go for lunch and head over to the European Market. \nmore details will follow\, \nRick and Rhonda

DESCRIPTION:I have a couple last minute spots that have opened up and wanted to see if you would like to spend the weekend in Hocking Hills. We will be hiking and relaxing. I will be holding a drum making workshop but that should only take 5 hours. It should be a beautiful weekend. \nThe space sleeps 9\, it is secluded\, has its own hiking trails and a hot tub. It has 3 bathrooms. \nThe cost for 3 night would be $200 for 9 people. We can share the cost of food and prep\, go out to eat also. We’ll keep that part simple.\nLet me know if this speaks to you.
