DESCRIPTION:A day of kayaking the lake at Potato Creek and a group cookout\, with a hike after. This will be a family friendly day at the park. \n**Rental prices are as follows:** \n* 14’ Flat Bottom Row Boats: $10/hour or $30/day (plus tax)\n* 17’ Canoes: $10/hour or $30/day (plus tax)\n* Single Kayaks: $10/hour or $30/day (plus tax)\n* Double Kayaks: $15/hour or $40/day (plus tax) \nA deposit of $40 or a driver’s license is required for all boat rentals. Mooring posts are available for $1 per day (plus tax). \nWe will have a group cookout and maybe a hike after kayaking. See details below. \nUse your state park pass to get in or\n**$7.00 In-State Daily Entrance Fee**\nAdmits driver and passengers.\n**$9.00 Out-of-State Daily Entrance Fee**\nAdmits driver and passengers. \nIf you are bringing your own kayak or SUP you will need the DNR lake permit stamp. Not sure they have a shelter available so we can find a quiet space to setup\, I’ll do some investigating.\nDoes anyone have a small grill they wouldn’t mind bringing? If you are a meat eater\, bring what you want to eat for yourself. Then we can all bring a dish to share. If you don’t mind letting us know what you are bringing in the comment section 😊 I’m not really a fan of plastic so I’ll bring my own dish and silverware but you do you. If that is what you would like to contribute\, let us know. We can chat more when we get closer. And of course it all depends on the weather 🤙\nBring your own chair. SUMMARY:Opt Outside Hike Potato Creek State Park
DESCRIPTION:We will take a hike through the trails in Potato Creek State Park on Black Friday. Opting outside for a social hike. Potato Creek has an eagle’s nest near by and an osprey nest in the park.\nThis will be a moderate/fast hike. A few inclines\, with clear trails. It may be muddy in spots.\nWe will meet in the Nature Center parking lot and start on trail 1 behind the playground\, then trail 2 and take that over to trail 4\, then back to trail 2 and finish one trail 1. This will be around 7 or 8 miles. If you want a shorter hike\, you can skip the trail 4 loop and head back on trail 2.\nIf you have an Indiana state park pass\, that will get you in. If not\, the entrance fee is $7 in state\, $9 out of state. You can met me at the information center\, park there and ride in with me. I can take 3 people. Let me know ahead of time.\nIt does take 5 ish minutes to drive back to the nature center\, so plan to give yourself extra time to meet at 11am. \nUpdate your RSVP if your status changes and remember to be kind and patient. \nThe park is hosting an opt outside hike at the same time as ours 😊 they are starting at the cemetery.
