Love’s Creek Nature Center and Tabor Hill’s Wine Trail w/ Chicago Hiking Group

I am hosting an event for the Chicago Hiking Meetup Group. We have about a dozen coming from Chicago. (I used to be very active in that group before I moved to Michigan 5 years ago.) I decided to invite my Michigan Groups to joins us.

The plan is to start the day hiking Love’s Creek, Then head over to Round Barn and hike Mt. Tabor (Round Barn Winery to Tabor Hill Winery and back.) The we will hangout at Round Barn to get a bite/drink and listen to the band. After, we will head to Lemon Creek winery for its Wine and Art Festival.

**Adventure on, winos and wanderers**
We will be hiking 2 trails in SW Michigan. The 1st one will be at Love’s Creek Nature Center. This hike will be 4 to 6 miles. We will meet in the parking lot at Love Creek at 10:00 (Central time, 11:00 Eastern time) After that hike, we will drive 12 miles to the 2nd hike, the Mt. Tabor Hill’s Wine Trail. We will meet are Round Barn Estate Winery and hike to Tabor Hill Winery and back. This will be 2 to 3 miles. If interested, we will stop at Tabor Hills for a tasting during the hike. After the hike, we will stop at the Round Barn Estate for wine and/or food. They will have a band playing. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

On the way home, we can stop at [Lemon Creek Winery](https://www.lemoncreekwinery.com/) for their Wine and Art Festival. It is 4 miles from Round Barn Estate Winery. It closes at 5:00 (Central Time, 6:00 Eastern Time).
Dogs are welcome on both hikes and wineries.

**Hike #1**

**Let’s Take a Hike: Love’s Creek Nature Center**
We will do a 4 to 6 miles hike at Love’s Creek. The trails are easy. Love Creek winds its way through this rolling 200-acre natural area outside of Berrien Springs, Michigan. Six miles of hiking trails provide access to a variety of habitats, including a mature Beech-Maple forest with spectacular spring wildflowers.
The daily entry fee is $3.00 per vehicle for Berrien County residents. $5.00 for non-residents. You may also opt for the $35 annual pass (regardless of residency). The annual pass is good at Love Creek Park, Silver Beach in St. Joseph, Madeline Bertrand County Park.
Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a 6-foot leash at all times

We will meet in the parking lot by the sidewalk going into the Nature Center.

**Hike #2**

We will take around a 2-3 mile hike between Round Barn and Tabor Hills Wineries, then we will stop at the Round Barn Estate for wine and/or food after the hike. They will have a band playing. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. If interested, we will stop at Tabor Hills for a tasting during the hike.

With a little over 3.5 miles of beautiful trails meandering through the woods and vineyards, Mt Tabor Trails connects guests from Round Barn Estate and Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant. The best part of these trails – taking your favorite beverage to-go is encouraged!

Bring a lawn chair or blanket for after the hike. We normally sit on the side of the hill by a tree.
